HECU are indeed in addons
Robert Yang’s series of articles about the F.P.S perfectly capture the current state of modding. As he correctly states – ‘criticism is just a design document for a better game.’ Maybe there never was any Golden Age for modders to weep over. We were always ‘greedy’ for fame – or simply hungry to make the coolest mod around – long before Gaming Monetization systems like Kickstarter. However in terms of ‘post-mods’, I do think that the community based artistry & talent of “User Generated Content” (a truly horrid term) is being exploited in the rush toward Free To Play heaven. -Henry Swanson
