Live Stream

Each week we broadcast live during recording.

General Information

The live stream takes place when we record, so there may be a delay while waiting for a guest or a time change to suit their needs. It usually starts around 6pm UTC/GMT (1pm EST) each Saturday.

The next episode’s agenda — which includes recording time if finalised — can be found at http://podcast17.com/agenda/. All recording times are listed as both UTC and EST.

Recording is streamed over the shoutcast server which Halflife2.net kindly allows us to use. For the actual recording we use a combination of Skype/CallBurner.

The live stream status can be found at live.podcast17.com. We hang out in our Steam group‘s chat while recording.

After recording we usually go and play a mod for a while; we list it on the agenda once something has been decided. It’s usually something released or updated during the week.

Listening

The recording time for the current episode is shown in the top right of the agenda once finalised. We start the stream a short time before recording and usually stream a playlist of Valve music until we’re ready to record.

To listen:

  1. Head to live.podcast17.com and download the playlist.
  2. Once the playlist is downloaded, open it with a media player. Most will work.
    • Verified players: iTunes, VLC, Foobar, Winamp, Aimp2, KMplayer.
    • Windows Media Player may work, but may not. Depends entirely on the codecs you have installed.
  3. While listening you may want to:
